Peanut Butter and Banana Pupcakes

Peanut Butter and Banana Pupcakes

from Sarah (aka Swah)

Did someone say PAW-TY?? This finger, er, paw licking treat is one to make any birthday bash a hit! Maggie combined two of her favorite flavors peanut butter and bananas to make a dog-safe dessert for any celebration.
  • ½ cup of Plain Flour
  • ½ tsp of Baking Powder
  • ¼ cup of Smooth Peanut Butter
  • 1 Medium Banana (Mashed)
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbsp of Water
  • Peanut Butter and Banana Frosting*
  • *½ cup of Cream Cheese
  • ½ cup of Peanut Butter
  • ½ of a Medium Banana (Mashed)
  • Piping Bag
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners of your choice.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder, set aside to add in later. In a medium bowl, stir together the peanut butter, mashed banana, egg and water until combined. Stir in the flour and baking powder mixture until smooth.
  3. Scoop into the cupcake liners. Bake mini cupcakes for 8-10 minutes and big cupcakes for 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool while you make the frosting.
  4. Combine the peanut butter and cream cheese together and mix. Add the mashed banana and mix for two minutes until the mixture is smooth. Put the frosting into a piping bag.
  5. Pipe the frosting onto the cupcake. Chill and serve.

This treat is a healthy cupcake option as gets it's sweetness from bananas! Just make sure to opt for xylitol-free peanut butter as xylitol is toxic to dogs and cats.
